We create rewarding experiences for people who look, read, and think.
Unlike a lot of agencies or design studios, we don’t specialize in one particular field or type of project. What we do specialize in is what we call “design for people.”
We work with companies and organizations that know a lot about something and want to reach and talk to people that don’t. We help them figure out what they need to say—and use design to express it in ways that surprise, engage, and inform as many people as possible.
All the work that we do is dedicated to a seemingly old-fashioned idea: that design actually can (and should) be meaningful.
By combining our experience with the resources of talented collaborators and the encouragement of great clients, we keep re-inventing ourselves to get things done and to make things better. And we’re always looking for something new to work on.
Grafik: “Above all, Open aspires to create work that answers questions that the clients don’t even know how to ask.”
This book will be part documentary (with stories of 12 Open projects told through interviews with all the participants in each), part monograph (with lots of finished, unfinished, process, and even rejected work), and part memoir (with Scott talking about the arc of the last 15-plus years).
And soon, we'll be inviting you to participate. Stay tuned!
