Agoraphone is an independent music-direction consultancy that can help out when you need (good, interesting, new) music for a film, design project or tv spot. They worked with Deutsch on all those Mitsubishi spots with the cool music. They produced original tracks by Yo La Tengo for Coca-Cola spots by Wieden + Kennedy. And for us, they researched, commissioned and produced all the music for the Trio network redesign. They are dedicated to getting good music heard by as many people as possible.
Arturan Consortium is a studio (run by Rowland Holmes) which designs and produces websites, printed matter and motion graphics. They also provide web hosting services and their own suite of business applications. We've partnered with Rowland and his team on many projects, including the HMGa website and the Wassco to Go online store.
Flat is a design firm in New York. Their work includes corporate identity, print, online, game, toy and furniture design. We first collaborated with Flat on the website for art:21. They contributed to both the site's visual and interactive design, and produced the site so that it could be easily updated and maintained. They are nice, smart people who are always doing something interesting and new.
Hoefler & Frere-Jones creates original typefaces for corporate clients (including just about every magazine there is) and retail sale (such as the Knockout family, which we used on all our Nation covers). Their work is the best there is. That's why we go to them whenever we need custom fonts like Retina for art:21 (and is now in use by the redesigned Wall Street Journal) or customized fonts like Trio Gotham for Trio.
Outpost Digital is a full-service post-production facility located just five minutes' walk from our studio. They work on all kinds of digital-media projects, from pre-production through post-production. They work with everybody: advertising, film and television. And they do everything: compositing, off- and on-line editing, sound design and mixing, mastering and media authoring (plus lots of other things we don't even know about yet).
Wassco is an illustration studio run by the multi-talented Chip Wass. We've collaborated on many projects with Chip, including the Nick at Nite network redesign, several covers for The Nation and Chip's own Wassco to Go online store. Since Wassco shares office space with Open, Chip is also our activities director, general advisor and good friend.
