History, culture and good music. Smithsonian Folkways Recordings is always putting out great collections of folk, blues, jazz, world music and who knows what else. We have been fortunate enough to design several Folkways releases, including
Crossroads: Southern Routes (with a handy map of the artists' hometowns on the disc), Tuva: Among the Spirits, Dock Boggs: his Folkways Years, The Original James P. Johnson and two volumes of Classic Blues. In all these cases, we worked closely with Folkways' printers and manufacturers to customize the packaging as much as possible within their tight budgets.
