That's a lot of records. The goal of the ARChive of Contemporary
Music (known as the ARC) is to collect two copies of every recording
since 1950. So far they have acquired over a million records and
CDs. The logo
we created for the ARC refers to sound waves, to their nickname,
and to the various formats of recorded music (it also spins).
Their website
includes a system of symbols for the various sections
and was designed to feature album
covers. And for their tenth anniversary announcement,
we used a shelf of LPs as a bar graph charting the ARC's history.
